A tipping point of evolution - Part 1

After reading the book "The Tipping Point - Malcom Gladwell" I have been seeing the concept of tipping points more often in more ways. The book described how the hush puppy shoe brand was at the edge of being bankrupt until a couple of hip new yorkers started to wear the shoes. As a result the influence of a few hip people caused the brand to flourish again,so lets take this concept a bit further.

I will give the examples of tipping points in various topics through out the coming days because the investigation of these examples takes a bit of time.

So here goes:

Technolgy created : Rise of the internet

Internet: Rise of internet users

Internet users: Rise of various content

Content: Different types of content to socialize , to do business , to
be entertained.

Content - Socialize : Face book , My Space , MSN Messenger , Skype , ICQ , Chat rooms , Forums , Blogs E-Mails

Content - Business : Connectivity between companies, Online trading, Advertisement, databases of buyers , more specific information related to the consumers and what they like , Automating of business labor and reduction of costs.

Content - Entertainment : Online games , youtube , funny video's , papers , pictures ,

So the above "Rises" are the tipping points that created something new and the new creations had there own tipping points which caused again new rises and so on and so on.

Anyway it might all look a bit confusing right now but I will explain this further in the coming days and I will show you how this is all linked again in to a new form of evolution.

In the mean time I can recommend looking at this video from TED.com
