Today’s headline in the financial industry is that of the “suicide” of one of the big guys at Freddie Mac’s , you know those mortgage guys that “just” went bust. Now my question is what about sympathy for this man , this 41 year guy that just couldn’t cope with the ….. . This is my question, what would the motivation be for David Kellermann to put a rope around his neck and bungee.
We don’t know the motivations, we can guess but we don’t know, and if was able to guess the motivation then I think it must have been related to the whole recession business and the Freddie and Fannie lets go bust parade.
And if I would be think even further down the line of motivations than you might think that David like many other executives knew what was going on for years and years but they were making money of it. They were getting richer and richer and no thoughts went trough their minds once about taking a rope and swinging it around the neck because they were powerful and wealthy. Rich people got richer and well poor people could pretend they were rich by loaning extreme amounts of virtual money that had to be paid back eventually in cold hard cash. That’s were the problems came, the secrets of high yield bonds and the mortgage bonanza got out. No more high life, thus no more life.
As a final and a bit more sinister edit , I would wonder how many people committed suicide because they could not pay back their loans and mortgages or hardworking men and women that lost their jobs because of people like David Kellermann and some many others that caused this recession to begin (See more about it here)
